Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren met while majoring in fashion design at Arnhem Academy of Art. Their arch-conceptual designs reached an audience beyond art aficionados when they started collaborating with fashion photography's cult couple Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in 1997. The pair's sartorial offerings may seem more like museum pieces than clothes, but the creations are actually made to be worn. Their theatrical collections always presented with a much anticipated element of the unexpected.
"Whenever a body is involved, sexuality has to figure somewhere in the equation, but for us the body is a support for the clothing."
