California natives Kate and Laura Mulleavy founded Rodarte in 2004. The first collection, consisting of only ten pieces, was a critical success garnering support from top editors and retail buyers who recognized the duo for their meticulous attention to detail and couture-esque quality of their designs. Since its inception, Rodarte has won a slew of awards including the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award in 2006, and the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2009.
