Trained in men's wear at Central Saint Martins, Nicoll was a designer that always followed his male intuition. His razor-sharp interpretation of modern women's wear added a masculine edge to timeless feminine classics without falling into androgynous territory. His afternoon-to-evening uniforms were both urban and elegant with an element of athleticism, combining influences from his Australian upbringing and European place of birth. Nicoll applied the same razor-sharp focus to men's wear, which he launched in June of 2012. Richard Nicoll passed away in October 2016.
