Oscar de la Renta started his label in 1965 after apprenticeships with Cristóbal Balenciaga & Antonio Castillo. His training in couture has translated beautifully into luxurious, elegant ready-to-wear, which has made him one of the most recognized and sought after names in fashion. He has won numerous CFDA awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1990 and Womenswear Designer of the Year awards in 2000 and 2007. Since the label's inception, Oscar de la Renta's scope has expanded to encompass accessories, children's clothing, bridal, and home décor.
