Originally, hailing from The Netherlands, after stints in international relations, publishing and merchandising, Atelier Marlo Saalmink was finally founded over a decade ago. As an art director, writer and strategist, Marlo works with a carefully curated selection of international designers, institutes and publications. From the Bergen atelier he aims to embrace a reflective sense of space, when it comes to design, art and communication. Seasonal pilgrimages to Florence, Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen and London, keep him informed on the global (market) tendencies found within design. To counter-balance this heavy travel schedule; the rugged nature of the Nordic hemisphere serves as an interesting contrast for creative (fashion) processes. Today, the atelier works with hubs and creatives such as POLIMODA, ODDA MAGAZINE, SOME/THINGS STUDIO, MISMO, STEPHAN SCHNEIDER, THE LAST CONSPIRACY, FUCKING YOUNG! MAGAZINE, THE WHITE BRIEFS, DASH and others.
"Continuity, presence and perseverance have become a rarity in this ever evolving industry of ours. To observe FASHION NET as a continuous beacon of fashion narrative, over all those years, simply is inspirational."
