Kenneth Cole

Kenneth Cole launched his shoe company in 1982 out of a truck he parked in Midtown Manhattan, selling his entire production of 40,000 pairs of shoes in two and a half days. In 1998, Cole expanded into menswear and followed with a women's collection in 2000. In addition to being a designer, he is well known for his public support of social causes including HIV/AIDS research, civil liberties, and disaster relief.
