American artist Johny Dar has since he started his fashion label in 1999 been known for his original work in art, fashion and music. Dar was featured in publications such as Vogue, Fault, Hunger, Kaltblut and Elle. In 2016, he launched Jeans for Refugees — a collaboration with notable individuals including Sharon Stone, Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss, Sofia Coppola where each participant's jeans were pained by Dar, exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery and auctioned to raise funds for the International Rescue Committee. In the same year, he introduced the 32 hour/day Johny Dar watch — "the ultimate luxury is more time," he says, "offering the opportunity of an extra 8 hours per day," enables a "higher quality of life, and allowing for more inspired and creative living."
