In 1853, after creating the first ever waterproof cloth, tailor and entrepreneur John Emary changed the name of his luxury menswear shop in London's West End to "Aquascutum" and started producing uniforms for soldiers, political leaders, and performers using his patented materials. Today, the brand is still best known for its suiting range.
