Agnes B. (born Agnes Trouble) has been championing her anti-fashion credo since opening her first shop in 1975. She produces uncomplicated casual clothing of good quality and tailoring and is one of the few French designers whose clothes are manufactured exclusively in France. Agnes B. studied at the Beaux Arts in Versailles before embarking on a fashion career, which involved a junior editor position at ELLE Magazine, a brief stint at Dorothee Bis and freelance design work before starting her signature line.
"I always say that I'm not in fashion, I design clothes. I try to make clothes for the people that wear them, not for the runway, you know?"
